Suzanne Forbes Named Private Sector Woman of the Year by the Daytona Beach News-Journal

James Moore managing partner Suzanne Forbes has been selected as the Volusia-Flagler Private Sector Woman of the Year for 2020! Part of the Women in Business awards, given by the Daytona Beach News-Journal, this achievement honors women who makes the community a better place to live and work through strong leadership, professionalism and involvement in local organizations.

Suzanne was cited as “a dynamic individual who is heavily involved in the betterment of our community.” Her efforts as managing partner of the firm, as well as with local organizations, has helped create an economy stocked with employment opportunities, quality professionals and resources for other companies. Several of her accomplishments were highlighted as reasons for her selection, including:

  • Selection as managing partner of James Moore & Company (and assistance provided to clients in securing critical economic incentives)
  • Work on business recruitment initiatives and economic development activities through the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce (for which she served as chair) and its economic development committee
  • The firm’s achievements during her tenure, such as the Accounting MOVE Project for leadership equity, a Top Recommended Tax & Accounting Firm by Forbes Magazine, and one of the Top 200 Best Accounting Firms to Work For by Accounting Today
  • Active service to additional organizations like the DeLand Chamber of Commerce, Daytona Beach Community Foundation, the Civic League and DeLand High School

The award is one of many announced on Oct. 15 as part of the News-Journal’s Influential Women in Business event. Normally held as a luncheon, the announcements were moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
